“What should I do about dinner tonight?”
We’ve all asked ourselves that tiresome question a million times, but on November 10, we have an easy answer for you:
Come join the Knights of Columbus and the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum for a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser to help us raise funds to put a new roof on the historic Terrill Tavern!
Dating to 1735, the Terrill Tavern is older than even the main Merchants and Drovers building, and older than America itself. And the old building needs a new roof, so we’re asking you and your friends and family to come and help the Terrill out by eating a delicious meal at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 80 W. Inman Avenue in Rahway, from 5-8 PM on November 10.
For a $15 donation, dinner will include pasta, choice of sauce (meat or vegetarian), salad, bread, and an array of desserts. Also included will be a fun, convivial evening with other guests and volunteers, and the knowledge that you’re helping to save an important part of Rahway’s history. (Alternatively, a take-out option is available if you prefer to support the cause while dining in the comfort of you own home.)
Thanks to a very generous donor, we have ALMOST enough money for a new roof – but not quite. The Knights of Columbus have generously agreed to run this fundraiser to help us “close the gap” in funds, so that we can close up the gaps in the Terrill roof, and help ensure that the historic little building will stand strong for another almost-300 years.
