This is the 26th year of this annual program, where visitors tour the Rahway Cemetery and meet some of Rahway’s famous ghosts of the past. Costumed actors will be positioned at the gravesites of individuals and present first-person accounts of their biographies.

This year’s tour will feature some of the very famous “ghosts” including Abraham Clark, signer of the Declaration of Independence; Dr. Fred Albee, WWI surgeon; Carolyn Wells, noted mystery writer; and of course, the Unknown Woman. A member of the United States Colored Troops (U.S.C.T.) will represent the 29 U.S. C. T. soldiers buried in the cemetery. Guests will also be brought to the graves of author Earl Reed Silvers; Elmer Bogart, a 16-year-old casualty of a factory explosion; and a formerly enslaved woman named Ambo.

A first time edition to the tour is Octave Challiet—a musician at the Regina Music Box Company—who will play a tune on an authentic 1892 Regina music-box.

Tours start at noon and leave every 15 minutes with each tour lasting approximately 1 1/2 hours. The last tour departs at 4:00 pm.

This year, tour groups will be limited to 15 persons, to ensure appropriate social distancing, so you must call or reserve online to ensure a desired starting time.

Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for members and seniors (65+) and $5 for children (12 and under). For more information, call the Museum office at (732) 381-0441.

Online reservations are closed for this event, but tours still have availability.  Please contact the museum for more information.
