Did you know that the Merchants and Drovers Tavern Did you know that the Merchants and Drovers Tavern building was used as a Girl Scout Headquarters for over 30 years? In fact, the Girl Scouts worked with the community to save this building from demolition in the 1960s. Starting in 2020, support from the NJ Council for the Humanities and a generous individual donor enabled us to work with Museum Partners Consulting on the development of a new exhibit honoring the Girl Scout Legacy. The research phase is done, and now we're busy cataloguing our new Girl Scout collection. Next year, we will work to secure additional funding to install our first new exhibit in over two decades: "Feels Like Home: The Girl Scout House,1932-1969". Watch this space for updates! #thisplacematters #newjerseyhistory

Phases III-IV of the exterior restoration of the historic Merchants and Drovers Tavern structure is funded by capital grants from the New Jersey Historic Trust and Union County.
