Enhance your Museum membership by becoming a docent, helping out in the museum, giving tours , working in the yard, office, or assisting the staff.

General Membership Privileges

Free Admission to Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum during regular opening hours. 10% discount in Terrill Tavern Museum Shop (excluding books).
Subscription to the quarterly Tavern News. Discounts on admission to most Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum programs.
Invitations to special events, including workshops, symposia, and programs. Annual members meeting..

 Volunteer Opportunities

  • Museum -  general cleaning, organizing and setting up for special events prior to the event..

  • Event Staff-  preparing and organizing for special event on the day of the event -behind the scene, no costume required.  Also needed clean up crew immediately following event.

  • Education -  Assisting with children’s tours and hands on activities, adult programs, workshops and seminars.

  • Tavern Yard - Weekly and seasonal maintenance of grounds.

  • Maintenance - Plumbing, carpentry, painting, cleaning and general maintenance.

  • Interpretive staff - participation in interpretive events such as Ghost Nights for children, Cemetery Tours, Tavern Nights, Cocktail parties.  Costume required, to be supplied.

  • Costuming-  Cutting and sewing using supplied patterns and material from the comfort of your own home

  • Museum Shop Staff - working in the Museum shop as needed, light duty, no costume required.

  • Office Assistant  - make telephone calls as needed, light office work, and mailings.

  • Food - prepare at home and drop off baked goods day of event

  • Operations - assisting in Tours of Museum and hospitality for special events.

  • Participate as a marketing or development team member helping to organize and prepare materials for mailing

  • Auction preparation and day of event staff.

  • Golf Outing volunteers and golfers on day of outing.
